Ranch
Vision is dedicated to our Creator who reveals himself in the beauty and wonder of his creation.
"Yet He has not left Himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons: He provides you with plenty of food and fills your heart with joy" (Acts 14:17).
May we not forget Him in times of prosperity nor forsake Him in times of need.
It is also dedicated to ranchers everywhere who sacrifice and endure hardship to produce food and fiber for a cold and hungry world.

WELCOME
Welcome to Ranch Vision, the program designed to look into your ranching future.
We are dedicated to making your experience with Ranch Vision both educational and profitable.
Ranch Vision is a unique simulation program designed specifically for the grazing livestock ranch. Ranch Vision identifies your current position and then projects the future direction of your ranch business. It allows you to see where your ranch is headed before it gets there. Obviously this foresight is extremely valuable. It enables you to avoid mistakes with your ranch business. It also enables you to identify previously unforeseen opportunities.
Conventional ranch management programs are historical. They look back at your past and analyze it. While this information is not without value, the real question is "what do you do now?" This is exactly the question Ranch Vision is designed to answer.
Using these historical ranch management programs is like driving down a windy mountain road looking only in the rearview mirror. You see where you have been, and while that may either be reassuring or upsetting depending upon what you see, it doesn't help you much now. Ranch Vision, on the other hand, allows you to look ahead and see what is coming at you. This enables you to avoid mistakes and capitalize on opportunities.
Ranch Vision is a powerful tool that will teach you a great deal about your ranch and will facilitate profitable decision making. However, it should also be fun to use. Be encouraged to play with the simulation of your ranch on Ranch Vision. By doing so you will learn a tremendous amount about the inter-related complexities of your ranch business. You will see and better understand how changes in one area of your operation will have a multiplied impact on many other areas of your ranch business. You will be amazed at what you can learn in a short period of time about the dynamics of your ranch business. And finally you will be able to use this information to develop a plan that will greatly increase the profitability of your ranch.
We at Advanced Veterinary Services look forward to being a partner with you in your ranching endeavors making them both pleasurable and profitable.

COPY PROTECTION NOTES
(For commercial version only. There is no copy protection in the on-line demo.)
The Copy Protection used in Ranch Vision is intended to be seamless and not bothersome. However, there are a few things you should understand.
First, the copy protection uses something called a "Software Key" to make sure that a legal copy of Ranch Vision is being run by the legal owner. This software key comes on the Ranch Vision installation disks. When you have finished installing Ranch Vision the setup program automatically runs a program called "Winmove," which can be found on disk 1 of the setup disks under the name WINMOVE.EXE. Winmove has a sister program, that does exactly the same thing except it runs under DOS, called "Evmove." Evmove can likewise be found on setup disk 1 under the name "EVMOVE.EXE."
Winmove and Evmove serve to relocate the software key from the setup disk to the hard drive. The path or directory that the key is moved to depends on where you chose to install Ranch Vision. The default is the "RANCHV" directory under the root directory of your hard drive. For instance, if your hard drive is drive C then Ranch Vision's default directory would be "C:\RANCHV."
If this key is moved to the hard drive, which it is by default, there are certain things you should be aware of. First, hard drive defragmentation utilities will destroy this key and should not be run while the key resides on the hard drive. Second, reformatting your hard drive will also destroy this key. If you need to reformat your hard drive, or if you are replacing your hard drive with a new one, or if you are defragmenting your hard drive the software key must be moved back to the setup disks first. To do this put disk 1 in your floppy drive and type this command at the DOS prompt.
A:\EVMOVE C:\RANCHV A:\
Where "A:" represents the drive letter of you r floppy drive and "C:\RANCHV" represents the directory to which Ranch Vision was installed to. Now, just confirm with Evmove that "YES" you sure you wish to do this. Once this has been done you can do whatever you want with your hard drive without jeopardizing Ranch Vision. Once you're through with the operation(s) you wanted to perform with your hard drive re-install Ranch Vision. Voila! You're back in business.
